Certifications & Validations

VMware offers a wide variety of partner certifications for hardware and software development. Most certifications for hardware, including storage and server, allow the use of the VMware Ready logo. VMware certifications are listed in the VMware Compatibility Guide.

VMware Ready designates VMware's highest level of endorsement for products created by our established partners. VMware Technology Alliance Partner members can develop their products to meet VMware standards and submit them for test and review.

The certification kits support partners and their products by delivering many test suites, allowing partners to provide a measure of reliability and stability of their VMware code. Certification kits from VMware test and verify that the results support the partner during the certification process.
VMware recently announced a change in the certification pricing model. The new model was developed based on feedback from partners and simplifies the pricing structure, makes for easier budgeting, and enables volume discounts.

Apart from pricing structure, the new model has simplified the certification process with a single dashboard in VIVa to monitor entitlements and uses VIVa as the single system for submitting certs, support, and equivalencies.

For more details, check out our Announcement Page and the FAQ. To buy certification entitlements, visit the VMware Store.
The VMware Integration Validation (VIVa) is a cloud service used by VMware partners to certify or validate their software and hardware solutions for integration with VMware technologies. VIVa provides a seamless user experience, from running certification test suites to automatically validating test results and listing certified products on the VMware Compatibility Guide (VCG).
VMware provides several listing services to supported partners to take full advantage of their VMware investment. The listing services, such as VCG, provide compatibility guides regarding supported hardware, software, guest and host operating systems, etc. Other listing services, such as the Marketplace, create a virtualized marketplace where VMware partners and developers use a self-service portal to publish rich marketing content and downloadable software.
Becoming VMware Ready designates VMware’s highest level of endorsement for products created by VMware's established partners. Depending on the category, VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) members develop their products to meet VMware standards and submit them for qualification testing or self-test review. Products that meet VMware Ready requirements will display the VMware Ready Logo for the program in which they are certified. These products are jointly supported by both the partner and VMware.
VMware Partner Ready is a validation opportunity for members of the Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) Program that allows partners to verify their solutions on designated VMware platforms. Partner Ready allows partners to test and validate their solutions that interoperate with specific VMware platforms. By completing the Partner Ready process and achieving the Partner Ready logo, partners verify that their products are interoperable with VMware and agree to manage customer support requests for the solution. Customers deploying these solutions can do so with the knowledge and reassurance that the partner fully supports the specified versions and configurations on VMware.
